About Gerardo Zollo

I am currently the Construction Safety Manager for J.T. Magen at the NY2 Equinix Data Center in Secaucus, New Jersey. I work closely with the J.T. Magen team to oversee daily site operations, with a strong focus on safety and security. Prior to joining the current Equinix project with J.T. Magen, I was the EHS Manager for Phase 3 of two JPMC Data Centers in Totowa, NJ & Orangeburg, NY for Structure Tone - and was also the EHS Manager for Structure Tone at Sentinel Data Center in Clifton, NJ. I've also served as the EHS Manager for Jones Lang LaSalle at the Bristol Myers Squibb pharmaceutical facility in Summit, NJ for 3.5 years. A significant part of my role on my current site involves conducting daily inspections and audits of the entire work site, as well as monitoring specific jobs in progress. Additionally, I lead frequent toolbox talks and safety stand-downs, covering relevant topics and reinforcing fundamental safe work practices. I also handle all site orientations, confirm training records, confirm proof of COI before vendors are permitted to begin working, collect daily PTPs to scan and upload in ProCore, and ensure our standards are being maintained throughout our site. I have extensive experience reviewing and approving JHAs and guiding vendors through the completion of their PTP's and various permits. I also coordinate training sessions including - MEWP, LOTO, PIT, RCRA, Hazwoper, etc - providing both in-class and hands-on instruction from industry experts. Before starting my career in safety, I worked as a laborer for two large general contractors in the Greater New York City area. During that time, I gained experience working on projects at locations such as Hackensack Hospital, Stony Brook Hospital, Google, Signature Bank, Stuytown Fitness, and many others. In addition to my field experience, I have a strong background in sales and genuinely enjoy engaging with people. This skill set complements my safety career, allowing me to connect and build strong relationships with our in-house technicians, third-party vendors, and clients alike.
