About Gerda Dirzyte

I am currently a 3rd year graduate student in my externship year completing my Doctorate in Audiology at Northwestern University. While pursuing my Bachelor of Science in communication sciences & disorders from Elmhurst University, I discovered my passion for audiology. I was drawn to the vast number of opportunities within the field, including the different disorder areas, settings, and populations I could work with. Additionally, I have personal connections to the field that originally sparked my interest. My personal perspective provides an opportunity to build strong relationships and empathize with patients. As someone interested in best practice, a patient-centered approach is my primary focus while developing my clinical skills. My general areas of interest include cochlear implants, tinnitus, amplification systems and aural rehabilitation.
