Welcome to my LinkedIn profile! Throughout my journey of moving between countries and diverse professions, I have discovered a common thread that weaves through my work life— the desire to make connections, foster learning, unleash creativity, and inspire others. For 23 years, I dedicated myself to University College London, where I held positions as an Associate Professor, and later as the Head of Department. During my tenure, I had the privilege of teaching Dutch language and leading courses on multiculturalism, identities, and interculturality. I delved into these topics extensively, publishing widely, particularly on language and culture pedagogy. In 2013, I took a transformative break from my academic pursuits to embark on a solo cycling journey around the Black Sea, with a detour via Iran. It was during this extraordinary experience that I rediscovered my deep-seated passion for the world that had taken a backseat during my academic career. Driven by this newfound inspiration, I made a life-changing decision in 2017, bidding farewell to my position at University College London to embark on a more creative path. To nurture my creativity, I completed a Master's degree in Creative Writing, and a few years later, I retrained to become a Co-Active Coach. My focus has shifted towards a more dynamic and multifaceted lifestyle. Currently, I split my time between the UK and Amsterdam, utilizing my experiences to write, learn, coach, and share insights on developing nomadic and intercultural skills. My approach is rooted in cultural connectivity, drawing from my rich experiences in multicultural environments and my innate ability to bridge gaps between diverse perspectives. As a co-active coach, I combine my diverse background and multidisciplinary expertise to facilitate personal growth, encourage exploration, and guide others towards realizing their true potential and achieve their goals.
