As a full-time mediator, arbitrator, special master, and discovery referee with ADR Services, Inc, I bring over three decades of litigation and appellate experience to the resolution of complex, high-stakes disputes. I’ve successfully mediated or adjudicated more than matters across practice areas including employment, personal injury, business disputes, malpractice, real estate, civil rights, and probate. Attorneys turn to me when conflict seems intractable—when relationships have broken down, emotions are high, and the legal process threatens to escalate rather than resolve. One such case involved a prominent California farming family grieving the loss of their matriarch, who had also operated the family business. Just as the family was trying to regroup, the heir apparent suffered a debilitating stroke. They temporarily leased the farm to a longtime friend—but without clearly defined expectations. The resulting misunderstandings led to dueling multi-million dollar lawsuits. Both legal teams were concerned that the depth of betrayal and emotional distress would preclude resolution. That’s when they brought me in. As a mediator, I worked with far-flung and emotionally distraught family members and litigants to develop a cost-efficient, limited discovery plan that gave both sides the clarity, trust, and confidence they needed. The parties ultimately resolved the dispute and emerged from the process in stronger positions—legally, financially, and relationally. My approach blends legal precision with emotional intelligence and procedural creativity. I help attorneys manage risk, facilitate informed decision-making, and resolve cases that may otherwise languish in litigation.
