About German E. Ortega Chpp

Germán Ortega received his BS in Civil Engineering from The University of Akron in Ohio. He is a Chartered Civil Engineer, a registered Professional Engineer in Colombia, a Chartered Project Professional (ChPP), a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and a member of ASME and ICE. Mr. Ortega’s pipeline career includes over 25 years of experience in oil and gas pipelines and upstream facilities design, construction, and startup. He has worked for some of the largest engineering and energy companies in North America, and currently, he is the Pipelines Project Manager for the Ras Laffan Petrochemicals Project. Before joining RLPP, Mr. Ortega was the Project Director - Pipelines for Venture Global LNG, and the Area Project Manager for the Lake Charles Liquefaction Project in Houston, Texas, a Shell/Energy Transfer JV. Before the Shell acquisition of BG Group, Mr. Ortega worked as Pipeline Delivery Manager for QCLNG in Queensland, Australia, and as Asset Project Manager for the Bolivia Asset. Mr. Ortega also served as the Senior Pipeline Engineer for Denali-the Alaska gas pipeline, a 50/50 joint venture between ConocoPhillips and BP. He also has a significant background with PHMSA and FERC regulated pipelines and is a member at large of the ASME B31.8 Gas Transmission and Distribution Piping Systems Section Committee. He possesses extensive pipeline project experience both domestically (USA) and internationally and has also participated in several multi-country pipeline projects. Mr. Ortega has participated in the upstream development of multiple major LNG projects.
