I've been working with Schlumberger since June 2005, starting out as a Wireline Operator offshore Newfoundland. I moved into the position of Perforating Gunshop Supervisor and Explosives Safety Officer in June 2006 where I took on the following responsibilities-Preparation of Perforating guns based on client needs for Offshore Newfoundland, Offshore Nova Scotia, and Land jobs throughout Atlantic Canada-Safe storage of Explosive Materials meeting all NRCan ERD requirements -Safe transportation of Explosives to and from Offshore and Land rig locations-Training of other offshore staff in Explosives Safety-Strict Inventory Control and tracking of explosive material-Purchase orders to meet upcoming demands in a timely manner. I also oversaw the design and construction of a new state of the art perforating gun assembly facility, which is one of a kind in Atlantic Canada and exceeds all NRCan explosives factory requirements. I am now responsible for the management and day to day operations/maintenance of this facility and it's staff. I addition to this role, I took on the role of Radiation Safety Officer for Schlumberger Wireline - Atlantic Canada in January 2014 and am responsible for overseeing the safe storage and handling of radioactive materials used for Oilfield exploration and production. This role also includes ensuring training of offshore staff in proper handling of radioactive materials is maintained, leak tests of RA sources are completed as per regulations, RA meters are kept calibrated, Inventories of RA materials are completed regularly, and all CNSC regulations are met and followed. In addition to these two roles I am also a Driver Trainer for Schlumberger since 2007. As part of this role I conduct defensive driver training with employees and yearly commentary drives with each employee to ensure safe driving practices are kept fore front in each employees driving habits at work and at home.
