About Gerty Valerio

With over 30 years of experience, I have built a career in strategic communication, corporate reputation, public relations & affairs, and sustainability, including roles in marketing and leadership of branding and social responsibility initiatives. I bring this expertise to board service and independent consulting, helping organizations strengthen governance and create value. I have held senior positions in telecommunications and consumer goods within multinational companies, building strong competencies in business strategy, stakeholder management, crisis management, and negotiation. More recently, I have expanded my professional practice as a consultant in nonprofit organizations and financial services. My academic background includes a degree in Economics from UNPHU, an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management, and the Senior Management Programme at the University of Cambridge. I have also completed specialized executive education at recognized academic institutions, with a recent focus on programs for board members such as the Development Program at Barna Management School in partnership with IPADE Business School (PMC), and participation in regional board forums like the iDirectores Roundtable in Latin America. I seek to broaden my contribution through board and advisory roles, bringing a strategic and independent perspective that strengthens stakeholder confidence and advances sustainable growth. I am also convinced that fostering greater female participation at the highest levels of decision-making contributes to more effective outcomes and reinforces the principles of good governance.
