I am a Chartered Accountant registered with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) as a member. I also hold a Postgraduate Diploma in International Tax from the University of Johannesburg and I am registered as a General Tax Practitioner with the South African Revenue Authority. I have over 20 years work experience in different industries that include financial services (banking), education, mining and logistics. My areas of expertise include the following: • Leadership and management of the finance function including human capital management and resourcing • Development of the organisation’s financial strategy and implementation of the same. • Budgeting and managing resources in line with the strategy • Prepare monthly management reports and annual financial statements according to International Financial Reporting Standards • Managing the risk profile of the Company, including maintaining and updating of standard operating procedures (“SOP’s”) • Managing the annual audit process and responsible for Corporate governance and control • Payroll management including preparing company monthly statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, etc.) and submit to relevant authorities in good time. Advise Management on the issues of Cross-Border VAT. • Ensure tax compliance for the group and advise on general tax matters of the Company- liaising with SARS regarding all tax queries. Responsible for drafting and updating the Transfer Pricing Policy document. • I am very conversant with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Have also worked with ACCPAC, Delta and Pastel Recent Achievements • Made possible VAT Refunds from SARS by ensuring necessary documentation is put in place- over R60 Million refunded • Developed the Company’s travel policy document and thus saved the company millions • Improved quality of management report writing to ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
