I am currently working as a Commercial Manager Aromatics within the Refining Base Chemicals Europe division at TotalEnergies based in Brussels. My main responsibilities are closing term contracts with clients in Europe and maintaining day to day commercial contacts with these clients while putting the contracts in practice together with our Supply Chain Team that handles the logistical side. Besides regular client visits, we also meet at various conferences like the yearly EPCA and quarterly EPL events. I speak fluent English, French and Dutch and can manage myself in German and Spanish. My previous position was within the Market Intelligence team of the same division. I was responsible for follow-up of the news and analysis of the petrochemical markets with a focus on olefins (ethylene, propylene and butadiene) and steam cracker feedstocks in Europe. I did studies to support the commercial teams in their commercial strategy and assist with price & margin data management. I was also regularly in contact with various consultants to gather information and discuss different topics of interest, including conferences and seminars. Before that I have over 11 years of experience within TotalEnergies in various roles at the Antwerp Refinery and Antwerp Steamcrackers. At the Refinery I was a Performance Control Engineer (in charge of Linear Programming Optimization Models and gasoline/distillates/fuels blending follow-up) and a Production Planner (planning fuels production on a daily basis and giving instructions to Operations Department including blending optimization). Prior to that I was a Process Engineer Utilities & Energy at the Steamcrackers doing daily energy optimization with Operations Department, various energy and CO2 reporting, energy and CO2 projects and being the representative within Essenscia (the federation of Belgian Chemical companies) on those subjects. I started my career within TotalEnergies as a Process Management Process Coordinator in Brussels Headquarters for the period 2005-2007. My main activities were followup of projects, development of project approval procedures, host project approval meetings with Senior Management, determine economics of projects and coordinate some energy related projecs. I studied Civil Electromechanical Engineering (option aerospace and aeronautics) at the Katholic University of Leuven, followed by a Degree in Corporate Economics at the same university. My master thesis was "Design of a roadmap for the transition from a natural gas based economy to a hydrogen based economy: transportation of hydrogen."
