About Giacomo Trapasso
I got my bachelor degree in Chemistry and Sustainable Technologies and my master degree in Science and Technologies of Bio and Nano Materials at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice. I deepened my studies with a PhD in Environmental Sciences, focusing on the synthesis of green solvents, bio-based platform chemicals and biopolimers starting from renewable resources. I apply the Green Chemistry principles in various fields, among which the synthesis of green membranes for industrual processes at the ITM-CNR in Rende (Italy) and in collaboration with the Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence (GCCE) a York (UK). I am currently working as a post-doctoral fellow at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice. I wish to apply my knowledge to develop new sustainable synthetic processes, contributing actively to the ecologic transition in place toward the abandon of fossil resources.
