About Gianfranco de Simone

I am a quantitative economist and an executive with an extensive experience in research, policy evaluation, and management of teams, research units and organizations. My main areas of expertise are #education, corporate and professional #training,#ImpactEvaluation of programmes and policies. Currently, I lead @Foncoop, an interprofessional organization that provides financial support for training programs in over 13k firms (~600k employees). In 2023 I set up the Evaluation Lab @Fondo per la Repubblica Digitale, an independent research unit that carries out the impact assessment of all the initiatives financed by the Fund. Previously, I served as Chief Research Officer @Fondazione Agnelli, a leading Italian independent research institute with a primary focus on evidence-based education policies. Throughout my professional career I have had the opportunity to carry out advocacy activities, to act as a consultant on educational policies at various levels of government (State, regions, provinces, municipalities), to contribute as an expert to media coverage of relevant education-related issues.
