Background

About Gianluca Capuano

I am a third-year student at McMaster University currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Biomedical and Mechatronics Engineering. I am interested in exploring the crossover between medicine and engineering, more specifically the practical uses of robotics and automation in healthcare. I am currently employed as a Systems Designer at Grantek Systems Integration. In this role, I am gaining experience in PLC Programming, HMI Design, electrical design, networking, and project management. At Grantek we take on projects that provide our clients with automated industrial solutions to help improve their workflow, output, and productivity. A leadership role I recently took on was the role of a planning committee member for McMaster Engineering Welcome Week 2024. In this role, the team I was a part of planned events and activities for first years in the incoming McMaster class of Engineering. This role gave me the opportunity to develop my leadership and communication skills on a large scale. It was also a great learning opportunity for me to learn from other members of the planning committee.
