About Gianluca Pinelli

Gianluca Pinelli (a.k.a. pinellus) is senior software engineer and PM at SMS Engineering. He has a huge experience as Web Architect and Software BI Developer. He has participated in many BI projects both as an architect as a data analyst. From stack open source (Kettle, Mondrian, JasperReport) to enterprise DWH (SSMS/SSRS/SSIS/SSAS - IBM Cognos) and self service solutions as PowerBI, Tableu, Board. He seriously thinks that the SQL language and the SP are nirvana but, despite this, over the years did not disdain raids in Java.Net, PHP, Python and CFML. His favorite toys to create applications are Eclipse, Spring, JPA, Hibernate, JAXB, Axis, Grails. He's IBM certified on WebSphere and BPM, Board certified, Intershop eCommerce certified and a Macromedia/Abobe Evangelist. Over the years he has worked with almost all the existing RDBMS on the globe as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2, Informix, InterBase, SyBase, MySQL. In the (little) free time he enjoys running, cooking, reading, writing on his blog, play board games with her two daughters and hacking on Arduino. Sometimes he believed to be Brad Pitt then his wife reminds him of being only a Nerd.
