Technical Underwriter Coordinator - Surety Dpt.CURRENT ROLE TASKSCoordinating underwriting Sureties & Bonds Dpt. team (Corporate Clients)- providing other underwriters with advice and expertise on underwriting issues- ensuring Uwing Guidelines (settled by the Head S&B Dpt.) are followed- ensuring underwriting standards, instructions and good practice (aimed at minimising risk) are met- complying with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure the related tasks are met.Responsible for facilities (credit lines) and sureties & bonds policies underwriting within underwriting authority limits and for providing recommendations for approval or clearance by Internal Committee for facilities or single deals falling beyond the individual underwriting authority limit.Responsible for no-domestic deals within individual underwriting authority limit.Developing, modifying and negotiating Bonds wording (when standard text is not appropriate), indemnities and other protection instruments (aimed at managing the recourse action) for new and existing facilities including negotiations with external solicitors and clients.Acting as referral point for other Uwers of the Sureties and Bonds Dpts. of sister companies within the Group.Preparing and maintaining periodic reports pertinent to the ongoing operations.Contributing to the planning process through research and project work.Assessing exposure and determines rates, terms and conditions of coverage in accordance with guidelines and using judgment underwriting to evaluate a risk.SKILLS AND EXPERIENCESolid twentyfive years underwriting experience and a strong understanding of surety underwriting principlesWide client sector knowledge and business awarenessStrong financial analytical skills Advanced knowledge of bond wordings, legal principles and indemnity agreementsCustomer service-oriented, accustomed to working under pressure (to meet the deadlines) dealing with work and clients’ needs. problem-solving ability with communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
