Background
About Gianmarco Paris
I am an environmental consultant and a senior environmental GIS & EO analyst. I graduated in Biology in 1989, and obtained a PhD in Ecology in 1993 from the University of Parma, Italy. From 1994 to 1996 I was a postdoctoral researcher at the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, The University of Greenwich (UK), and at the Research Department for Limnology, Mondsee, of the University of Innsbruck (A). From 1997 to 2009 I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Politecnico di Milano (I). Since 1997 I have been developing GIS applications to applied ecology, environmental assessment and management, spatial planning, and renewable energy sources. I have been teaching GIS at both the undergraduate and graduate levels since 1994. In 2016 I joined the EIT Climate-KIC Network of Climate Coaches. As a member of this network I have been coaching in three EIT Climate-KIC education programmes: Pioneers Into Practice, Climathon, and Journey. In 2018 I became in-country trainer for Italy of the Climate Data Store of the Copernicus Climate Change Service.
