About Gianna Bottone

I have a passion for non-profit work that came from an early age. I got started by opening two schools in Haiti with my teacher in 2010. I went on to open my own non-profit, Wings Over Haiti, and raised over $1M to purchase 6.2 acres of land in Croix-Des-Bouquets, Haiti. I ran that organization for 5 years, and one my teacher left the organization while I was in high school, I decided to pursue other ventures. I was working at Tropical Smoothie Cafe at the time and began running our store’s fundraising program for Camp Sunshine in Maine. I was hosting many fundraising events from casino nights to fashion shows, as well as optimizing our ask at the register to increase donations. Our Cafe was among the top in the country, and I was invited up to Camp Sunshine where I got to meet with the CEO of Tropical Smoothie to discuss best practices and how they could improve in-store fundraising. Currently, I am pursing my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Non-Profit Management while working full-time as the Food Drive Coordinator at Island Harvest Food Bank. I am responsible for planning just under food drives per year and securing large scale gifts from corporate groups, individuals, and other community organizations. I work on corporate partnerships, event planning, and strategic planning for our annual goals.
