About Gianna Leogrande

I am a fourth year Economics and Accounting major at UC Santa Barbara with a strong foundation in financial accounting, tax preparation, and financial reporting. Throughout my academic and internship experience, I’ve developed a deep interest in how accounting drives business decisions and helps organizations stay financially sound and compliant. My academic background has equipped me with a solid foundation in analytical thinking, data analysis, and financial management, and I am eager to apply these skills in a professional setting. Currently studying for the CPA exam, I’m actively seeking opportunities to apply my knowledge and grow professionally in the fields of accounting, finance, or economics. I’m especially drawn to roles that involve solving complex problems and driving financial insights that support strategic decision-making. I am currently working as a Research Assistant for a tax research project under the supervision of Professor Tazhitdinova at UC Santa Barbara. The project focuses on educating students with no prior knowledge about income taxation. My main contributions to this project include assisting with research, developing educational materials, and supporting the project’s educational goals. Previously, I gained hands-on experience as a Financial Data and Income Tax intern at Asnani CPA Tax & Accounting, where I assisted with tax preparation and financial reporting. This experienced not only deepen my understanding of financial management but also provided valuable insight into working with clients.
