Work with the National Alliance on Mental Illness Policy Committee to develop policies in relation to proposed & enacted federal regulations & legislation. •Coordinating, developing, & presenting over 10 seminars annually to CEO’s, Director’s & Program Managers on public policy change from groups from 10 to 40. •Responsible for analyzing & approving policies & procedures for 10 to 30 agencies annually. •Providing consultation & training to 5 committees on federal legislation and regulation. •Analyze federal health care legislations & regulations including the Affordable Care Act and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act providing real world scenarios on impact to the health insurance industry, health care providers and other stakeholders. •Keep abreast of developments in the field of Health Care Administration by participating webinars, reading current literature related to Affordable Care Act. •Prepare & deliver lectures to students in American Government providing analysis & interpretation of Affordable Care Act & impact on Health Insurance Organizations, Health Care Providers, & other businesses. •Provide training, instruction, technical assistance & consultant services on federal legislations & regulations related to Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act, American Disability Act & Fair Labor Standards. •Work collaboratively with providers, clients & other stakeholders to provide both written & verbal analysis of enacted or proposed legislations to ensure regulatory compliance. •Assist in the development of internal & external communications related to changes in federal health care •Review organizational policies for approval & provide written & recommendations to leadership regarding policy interpretation, policy needs, potential advocacy & implementation requirements. •Review Manager of Comprehensive Provider Network contracts & policies to ensure compliance with federal legislations & regulations.
