About Gilbert Kanyi

I am a highly organized, thorough and motivated professional. I have attained higher academic qualifications perfected with advanced skills in IT and mobile technology, particularly in technologies used in IN and VAS solutions, including Ericsson Charging System (i.e. SDP, AIR/AF, CCN, MINSAT, EMC, EMM, EMA, IVR, VS, SUF, TSP, SPARC, x86, Solaris, Linux), and VAS solutions (i.e. SMSC, ADC, USSD, VMS, MMSC, and RBT). In my current and previous positions, I have gained experience in system administration, analyzing system performance, traffic projection, identifying resource requirements, preparation of BoQs and technical presentations. I’m experienced in project management, training and presentation of solutions to technical and non-technical audience. Throughout my career, I have, in several occasions, been recognized for my accomplishments and contribution to the organizations I have worked for. I particularly have advanced technical skills in database systems including Oracle 8i, 9i, 10g, 11g, 12c, Oracle TimesTen, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Sybase. Additionally, I am skilled in operating systems such as Sun Solaris, Linux and Microsoft Windows. Other technologies I've worked with include EMC storage systems, Cisco, Juniper and Extreme switches as well as SPARC and x86 servers, Virtualization applications (e.g. VMware), software development and data analysis tools. I have also participated in various projects including CS3 to CS5 upgrade, SMSC installation, among others. I also have good knowledge in SS7, SIGTRAN, CAMEL, ISUP, INAP, MAP, DIAMETER, SMPP, etc. In addition to my technical skills, I am particularly strong in communicating and establishing relationships with people of diverse culture. I have excellent written and verbal communication skills. I also recognize the importance of being a strong team player and leader when it comes to forging solutions.
