About Gilbert Noriega

I always thought flipping liquor bottles, shaking bar tins and sharing my passion for tequila with a smile was going to be the life for me. It seemed appropriate given my 10+ years in the industry working any and all positions from busser to manager. I gravitated toward bartending because I love to the feeling I get when a guest takes the first sip of a cocktail they've never tried before and their eyes tell me what they think before their mouth does. But then the pandemic happened and I became unemployed. I yearned to do more, yearned to learn something different. This is when I found a new career path for me, data analytics. I love pulling up a chair, asking questions and getting to know the data before suggesting something new. I've found that data talks a lot and the stories they tell me are always worth listening. It's oddly satisfying. I think in a way it's just like bartending; you have to be moldable, while still keeping your creative flare intact. My specialties include quickly learning new skills, breaking down complexes problems and providing great teamwork. So far I have Python, SQL, a little HTML and JavaScript under my belt. I'm still enthusiastically learning new methodologies, frameworks and principles I can integrate into the coding web in my head.
