About Gillian Ashton

As the Manager of the Executive Office, Board Relations and Special Projects at the Canadian Film Centre (CFC), I'm involved in every aspect of our organization's mandate to shape the future of storytelling. I work extensively with the Executive Director, senior management, and the board of directors in strategic planning (managing the never-ending dance of vision, impact and logistics), coordinating fundraising activities (like our CFC Conversation series), drafting and executing communications, and maintaining organizational efficiency. I have over 10 years of experience in arts and culture, with a background in film and television production, podcast and theatre production, communications, and arts management. I am passionate about producing inspired stories that resonate with everyone. I have co-produced several independent films, as well as hosted and produced my own podcast. I am highly skilled in creative writing, administration, social media content strategy, special events production, and supporter relations and stewardship. I am always eager to learn new skills and explore new opportunities in the creative and administrative fields.
