About Gillian Bishop

Gillian was a founding partner of Family Law In Partnership, setting it up in 1995 to provide a client focussed service. In 2011 Family Law in Partnership won the inaugural Jordan's Family Law Firm of the Year award in recognition of its outstanding client service. As an experienced Family Lawyer, Gillian wanted to create a family law firm that served clients who desired an holistic approach to their divorce. Gillian’s aim is to keep the family unit as amicably cohesive as possible. Now a consultant in the firm, Gillian’s main focus is improving the skills of, and support for, the next generation of family lawyers For over 30 years Gillian has pioneered skills training for family lawyers and this remains a passion. In March 2017 Gillian was instrumental in setting up FLiP Faculty a training body offering workshops in essential skills and Parenting Coordination for family lawyers and mediators. In September 2022 thorough FLiP Faculty and in conjunction with the Institute of Family Therapy, Gillian launched ReFLEx training, a modular, online, comprehensive essential skills course. Www.reflextraining.co.uk Gillian is also a qualified family law supervisor and spends a great deal of time promoting reflective practice though supervision and providing supervision on a confidential 1-1 basis to a number of firms and individuals. She is a frequent speaker and writer on wellbeing at work, supervision and the need for culture change in the family law field. In 2017 Gillian won a Career Achievement Award at the Powerwomen Awards organised by Citiwealth Magazine. In 2018 she was named Family Law Partner of the Year in the Lexis Nexis Awards. She has been shortlisted for the Life Time Achievement award in the 2020 Law Society Excellence Awards. In October 2020 Gillian was appointed a Champion of Law Care.
