About Gillian Guevara

Mother to four beautiful children. Writer. Singer. Artist. Took time away from the work place to relocate and reassess priorities and goals after the passing of my mother and following forced shut down of the pandemic. As a result, moved to Connecticut to remain close to my adult children, while co-creating the desired future. Created curriculums as a teenaged YWCA camp counselor. Learned how to work with goal oriented diligence through Cadets. Managed the households of two sisters who lived in different houses on the same block as one. Worked at Blues Clues Day Care again as an adult supervising my own group of children. Taught poetry in high school as a guest speaker over several weeks. Guest speaker and advocate for Good Shepard Services, V.O.W. among others. Before joining the hotel industry, worked in the food service industry as a server for The Glazier Group; which held many catering venues including BridgeWaters and The Monkey Bar Manhattan, where I gained strong interpersonal skills. Hired at Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts Resort and Spa (NY), as an ice cream salesperson in 2004 outside the hotel. Prepared and set up mobile stall. Responsible of every aspect from loading to sales til end of shift. Graduated to Burger Joint as a crew member. From there transitioned into Engineering as a building maintenance mechanic. Co-delegate for our local union 97 in my Job as engineering mechanic at Thompson Hotels formerly Parker NY. Capable at multitasking when properly trained. Leadership is more about having awareness and being responsible by acting with consideration rather than control. Focused, observant, eager to learn, quick to adapt, work well with others or independently. A communicative self starter who is looking for a company with a strong human resource team that encourages growth.
