About Gillian Rush

I am a senior clinical research coordinator pursuing medicine. My research and clinical interests are in the week preceding and week following chronic and terminal diagnoses, and specifically how medical systems can be transformed to better support patients' quality of life during these windows. I have also especially enjoyed working in neuroinflammation and gene therapies. I'm currently leading study startup in the UCSF Dept of Pediatrics. Prior to this, I coordinated studies with the Biobehavioral Pediatric Pain Lab at Stanford University and the Multiple Sclerosis Group at UCSF. In these roles I’ve had the pleasure of working directly with patients and families with various health conditions. Over the past 7 years as a researcher, I’ve gained insight into conducting biomarker and imaging studies, RCTs, mobile intervention pilots, first in human gene therapies, and experimental paradigms under the guidance of interdisciplinary teams.
