About Gina Alvarez

I was raised on debate and discussion in a Cuban-American household, encouraged to articulate my point and enjoy defending it well - not far off from what I do for brands and businesses today. I’ve brought to life culturally-relevant strategy, branding, marketing, design and events for brands like BMW, Nike, The Gap, American Express, Virgin Group, Time Warner, Sony, Infiniti as well as scores of smart start-ups (outdoor change-makers, ITA Leisure), growing SMBs (woman-owned and -led, Sarah Cornwell) and innovative charities (community-based, Kin Wellness & Support Center). I engage my creative and analytical skills to synthesize complicated data into clear ideas and actionable direction. I steward projects from concept to delivery, managing scope, budget and resources. I lead cross-functional teams by 1. aligning people around common purpose, 2. motivating via personal connections and clear communication, and 3. minding the details without losing sight of purpose. I like spreadsheets more than anyone should, but I'm nourished by decades of creation, design and travel. I also co-founded NYC’s first concept store, The Apartment.
