About Gina Obrien

Hello! My name is Gina O'Brien. I graduated from Michigan State University December 2021 with a Bachelors in Animal Science (major) and a minor in Agribusiness Management. Will be going back to Michigan State University August 2023 to study veterinary medicine where I will be graduating 2025/26 as a Veterinary Technologist. My CliftonStrengths include: 1) Deliberative - laying all possible avenues out to analyze, assess, and identify any risks that could be apart of the situation. I also like planning everything out before following through to ensure situations go accordingly (as they play out in my mind). Will help me in choosing the best option for the situation at hand. 2) Harmony - always trying to be a mediator in any situation since I dislike confrontation. This strength is a blessing (keeping the peace) and curse (merge with others ideas instead of speaking out about my own). Keeping the situation in a calm manor to remain professional when working along side customers/other employees/supervisors. 3) Discipline - Making large projects into small feasible goals within well-thought time frames and maintaining structure. Helps keep me focused on getting the tasks done reasonably that meet customer and company standards while also understanding that some situations are less strict on a structure. 4) Responsibility - taking accountability in all I do both personally and professionally as well as making sure tasks that have been given to me are done in a timely manner. I enjoy being reliable to a company and know that I am valued and can be trusted with my dedication if I enjoy the company/job. 5) Futuristic - foreseeing what the project would look like completed or even how it will benefit the company in the long run. For example; a new layout for displaying new items in a store. Also how I see myself in the company (if it was I aspire to be in) once I have my foot in the door - usually after the initial interview if I feel it went great. I have experience with bovine and ovine for I raised both types to sell at my county fair. I have also taken classes at Michigan State University to better my understand those species by building on my previous skills. Due to raising these animals and classes, I have learned basic nutritional needs, maintaining health, and even how to maximize their reproductive success.
