I have been helping people manage their investment to meet their financial goals for the last 31 years. We are a little bit aggressive and look outside the box by not just settling into an asset allocation model that is recommended by a bank or other advisors. We look at the economy and mainly the money managers who are managing the money: what is their background, reputation and past successes and failures. Knowing what and when to buy is important but so is cutting your loses, not holding on to a looser hoping they will come back. You don't lose by taking a profit, especially if you move to an investment with a better potential for the future.
