About Gintvile Simkoniene

I am an electrical engineer, researcher, and lecturer focused on energy system reliability, marine electrification, and renewable energy integration. I earned my joint PhD from Kaunas University of Technology and the Lithuanian Energy Institute, and have since dedicated my work to bridging research, education, and innovation. As Vice-Dean for Science and International Relations at Klaipėda University, I lead initiatives that strengthen cooperation between academia, industry, and international partners, particularly within the EU-CONEXUS European University Alliance and the MIT–Lithuania collaboration frameworks. Beyond teaching and research, I actively mentor teams during hackathons and startup challenges, in collaboration with KTU and national innovation networks, inspiring young talents to develop practical and sustainable energy solutions. I also contribute to the academic community as an Editorial Reviewer for the EU-CONEXUS ENABLES Open Journal, supporting interdisciplinary publications in the fields of energy, sustainability, and coastal resilience. My main interests include sustainable and resilient power systems, cooperative game-theoretic approaches to electricity reliability, and interdisciplinary collaboration that connects engineering, data, and policy to enable a smarter and cleaner energy future.
