About Gio Viray

Greetings! My name is Gio Viray. You may call me 'Gio'. Early in my career, I ventured out into different industries to discern which one I'm truly aligned with in terms of skills, abilities and passion. I started out working for a quick service restaurant as part of a service crew, and afterwards, interned for a human resources agency where I maintained and improved the operability of the firm's entire employee database. I then went on to the Real Estate industry where I was a documentation controller as part of the firm's condominium/office aftersales services. After some time, I was discovered by the head of training that I could be better suited for a Trainer role. I took the opportunity to transfer departments and the rest was history. In the same Real Estate firm, I became a junior trainer with no formal industry education but over time, I progressively learned the trade through my trainees - most of whom are older than me and are already tenured in their field. Over time, I started diversifying my offerings as a Trainer. I handle both Product & Sales training and I also facilitate team building activities. Furthermore, I do Training Needs Analysis for groups/teams in order to come up with impactful and tailor-fit trainings for them. I was promoted to Senior Trainer after just one year of being in the role. After some time, fate has it that S&P Global has sprung up an opportunity for me as a Real Estate Analyst for the S&P Capital IQ Pro platform. Considering my growing interest in the world of Finance, I took the call and applied. I came in to the company and in a short span of time, expanded my knowledge on global REITs, REOCs and also gained a global network - real estate professionals/academe, investment bankers, analysts from Wall Street, et cetera. With that said, I was eventually promoted to Senior Analyst and I also decided to work under our 'Data Generalists' team where - on top of my Real Estate sector knowledge - I've expanded my scope to other industries such as Energy, TMT, and Metals & Mining. And now I currently work for Resource Solutions (under the Robert Walters Group) as a Data Insights Analyst. To cap it all off, I see myself being passionate as a 'Trainer-Analyst' and I plan on capitalizing the 'duality' of the said roles and the unique perspective it brings to the table in the years to come.
