Background
About Gioia Morasch
An accomplished leader with extensive international experience, I have led educational initiatives in Zimbabwe, South Korea, Canada, and Germany. In my current role as a Primary and Elementary Assistant Principal, I participate as a NEASC accreditation team member, gaining valuable insights and expertise in accreditation processes. For over two years, I served as a Country Network Leader and FRA Regional Leader in the WomenEd movement, organizing conferences, facilitating discussions, and authoring articles that champion the support and mentorship of women aspiring to leadership positions. My commitment to promoting and mentoring women continues to this day. My passion lies in fostering student agency, building confidence in public speaking, and empowering young learners to drive change- both in and outside of school. With a career spanning over 25 years, I advocate for concept-based, transferable and personalized learning. I have led strategic initiatives centered around STEAM and innovation and pioneered FLEX-day at FISW, a day devoted to enabling students to explore their individual interests through project-based learning opportunities. Simultaneously, I am pursuing a doctoral degree in the International Educational Leadership and Policy program at the Ontario Institute of Education (OISE) with the University of Toronto (UT). My doctoral research focuses on principal leadership support and development in the international school sector. I hold an Honors B.A. in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Public Administration and furthered my academic pursuits by earning an MA in Human Development and Child Psychology from OISE, where I was awarded a full scholarship for my achievements. As an experienced public speaker, I have delivered presentations worldwide, sharing my knowledge and insights as an IB workshop and international school leader for the last ten years. I’ve had the privilege of speaking at the 2019 AGIS Conference in Germany, the 2023 ECIS Conference in Antwerp, and contributing to the 2023 World Virtual Summit in Washington D.C. I have presented at the NEASC & ECIS Leadership Conference in the UK and was honored to be invited to join the Leadership Seminar for Overseas Principals (LSOP) in 2024. I am excited to begin my next chapter in leadership as Middle School Principal and Director of Teaching and Learning for Grades 6-10 beginning 2025 academic year at the Frankfurt International School.
