Background

About Girish Sapra

I'm a Mechanical Engineer turned Sustainability Leader, Startup Mentor, and Educator, now building purpose-driven ecosystems. After my PhD from NIT Jalandhar, I began my journey in academia and research—but soon realized I wanted to solve real-world problems, not just publish papers —then made a bold shift from classrooms to real-world innovation. In 2022, I founded Greenbrigade, a sustainability venture helping institutions and cities go net-zero with waste. Since then, I’ve led waste transformation projects for Govt. Municipalities, Colleges, and Corporates to make sustainability practical, affordable, and impactful. Over the years, I’ve mentored 300+ startup founders, raised ₹30 lakhs+ in grants, and authored a book called "Classroom to Boardroom", to help young entrepreneurs kickstart their ideas the right way. Today, I consult on SDG-aligned strategies, conduct training for government and industry, and deliver sessions on innovation, design thinking, and sustainability—at institutions like IIT Bombay, upGrad, SRM, and more. If you're a university trying to build a thriving startup culture—or an early-stage founder lost between idea and execution—let's connect. girish.sapra1@gmail.com Fun fact: I once led a team of 25+ waste workers and supervisors to transform a city’s entire waste management system—starting with zero budget and a whiteboard.
