I’m Gitika Babbar, a Master’s student in Cybersecurity at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, where I’m not just learning the ropes — I’m helping lead the way. Currently, I serve as both a Graduate Student Assistant and a Course Assistant, supporting programming labs, conducting code reviews, and mentoring students through complex technical concepts with simplicity and clarity (yes, even C pointers can make sense — with the right analogy!). My journey began with a B.Tech in Computer Science from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, where I graduated with distinction and discovered my passion for securing digital systems. Since then, I’ve taken on impactful roles across Infosys, rising from Systems Engineer to Technology Analyst, driving cybersecurity compliance, optimizing network operations, and leading front-end development efforts for enterprise-scale projects. From ethical hacking and penetration testing to streamlining ticketing systems and managing teams, my work blends technical depth with real-world outcomes. Whether it’s building secure.NET applications, performing SIEM-based monitoring, or leading architecture decisions — I’ve seen how technology can be a shield, a solution, and a strategy. What I bring to the table? A strong foundation in core CS and security principles, sharpened by hands-on exposure to tools like Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nessus, OWASP ZAP, and more Leadership experience through academic roles and team management in industry settings A knack for translating complex security issues into actionable, business-friendly solutions And a genuine passion for mentoring, learning, and building secure systems that make a difference The most fulfilling part of my journey?
