About Gitte Henriksen

Qualified Biomedical Laboratory Scientist, Master of Health Science and has a diploma degree in management. Has been employed by DEKS since 2001, first as deputy manager and since 2013 as head of institute. Has been an international member of C-AQ (Committee for Analytical Quality) under IFCC and is from 2024 representative for EQALM in the TF-GLQ under IFCC. Was elected member of the EQALM board (European Organization for External Quality Assurance Providers in Laboratory Medicine) in 2005 and again in 2020. Is chair of the EQALM Scientific Committee and chair of the international joint task force to monitor HArmonization of measurands in Laboratory Medicine through data Aggregation (HALMA; Is involved in the EU-project: manufacturing of commutable calibrators and quality control materials for standardisation, COMET (https://projects.lne.eu/jrp-comet/the-project/) Is active in EQAnord (an umbrella organization for the Nordic external quality assurance organizations) and holds a seat in the steering committee for SKUP (Scandinavian evaluation of laboratory equipment for point of care testing; Appointed representative for The Danish Association of Biomedical Laboratory Scientists to be a member of the follow-up group for the strategic expert monitoring group for risk-based supervision under the Danish Patient Safety Authority and in the Committee for Medical Devices under the Danish Medicines Agency. Areas of employment: Management and finances. Has extensive experience with external quality assurance within laboratory medicine and works especially with quality assurance of point of care testing and clinical biochemistry.
