About Giulia Buob

I am a geographer with expertise in GIS analysis and mapping, with a particular flair for human habitats and their surrounding environments. After graduating from the University of Fribourg in 2014, I gained field experience in Chile, researching Andean glaciers, and in Graubünden, where I focused on digital observation of National Parks. I later served as project manager at the Environmental Observatory of Southern Switzerland (OASI). Since 2019, I have been a scientific researcher at the Osservatorio dello sviluppo territoriale (Academy of Architecture – USI), conducting geostatistical analyses on urbanization, demographics, economic activities, and land use across local, regional and transnational scales. A common thread throughout my career has been my ability to communicate effectively and build meaningful relationships with people, coupled with a genuine interest in the interaction between the natural and built environments.
