About Giulia Cancellieri

Giulia Cancellieri is Associate Professor at the Venice School of Management, Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Giulia’s research interests include creativity and innovation, social processes of legitimation in cultural industries, strategic management and marketing of cultural organizations. Her research has been presented at various academic conferences, including the Academy of Management, the Strategic Management Society and the International Conference on Arts and Cultural Management. Her works have been accepted for publication in international journals and books, including Strategic Management Journal, MIT Sloan Management Review, Journal of Consumer Culture, International Journal of Arts Management and Handbook of Innovation and Project Management, among others. She obtained three Best Conference Paper Awards at the International Conference on Arts and Cultural Management (years 2013, 2015 and 2019), the world leader in research on cultural organizations. In November 2022, her paper on the strategic management of tradition in cultural industries published in Strategic Management Journal received the 2nd prize at the EBS Best Paper Award on Innovation, Corporate Entrepreneurship and Transformation.
