About Giulia Gherardi

I have 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management (last 4 in global leadership positions), with a focus on Global Operations, Strategy, Business Development and Growth, Distribution Network Design and Sourcing and Digital Transformation. Over the last 6 years at Volvo Cars and previously at McKinsey & Company, my mission has been and is to work with my team and partners to develop data-driven Supply Chain Management organizations that orchestrate the Value Chain of the company at its core. This includes setting up integrated planning and S & OP, optimizing distribution models and networks globally, driving efficiency in capital, cost while at the same time improving service level and designing the right organizational set-up for success. I think total cost and l am an advocate of end-to-end optimization challenges! In September 2024, I have been appointed Head of Manufacturing & Supply Chain Strategy & Business Office, working together with our new Chief Manufacturing & Supply Chain Officer, Francesca Gamboni. I am excited and proud to be given the opportunity to help to steer the end-to-end scope of our operations strategy and its impact towards our so very crucial product plan. As being the Chief of Staff is also part of my role, I love to be able to contribute to some of our high priority and high stake initiatives to ensure that we deliver on our promises to the best of our abilities for Volvo Cars’ success. Italian at heart, married Swedish, I have have been living abroad for many years where I got insights on other cultures and values. I am appreciated for my value-driven leadership and high energy. What most motivates me is to continue to learn, build genuine relationships and work with passionate, creative and cross-functional teams to achieve great results for Volvo Cars.
