Background
About Giulia Pecone Vanderpool
I am a clinician with a deep commitment to helping children, adolescents, and families navigate complex emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges with compassion and clarity. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care, attachment theory, and neurodiversity-affirming practices that honor each individual’s story and resilience. As an alumna of the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work, I began my career supporting high-risk youth and adults in residential, behavioral health, and employment programs. From 2016–2020, I worked extensively with foster youth and adults with disabilities—experiences that shaped my understanding of systemic trauma, resilience, and the importance of advocacy within and beyond the therapy room. In 2020, I transitioned into private practice and have since built a thriving clinical practice serving children, adults, and families. At Atlas Psychology, I integrate play therapy, CBT, DBT, somatic approaches, and parts work to help clients build awareness, self-regulation, and sustainable coping strategies. I also collaborate closely with schools, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure that therapeutic progress is supported across all environments. As a social worker, I believe in the power of community—healing rarely happens in isolation. I strive to help not only individuals grow, but the systems around them evolve to create consistent safety, connection, and accountability. In addition to my clinical training, I am a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) with over two decades of personal mindfulness and yoga practice. I frequently integrate somatic awareness and breathwork into sessions, bridging mind-body approaches that empower clients to reconnect with their innate capacity for healing. My professional focus continues to expand through advanced training in trauma recovery, neurodivergence, and family systems work. Above all, I am passionate about creating spaces—both in therapy and in community—where people feel seen, validated, and supported in becoming their fullest selves.
