About Giulia Simone

Giulia Simone (Ph.D in European Social History, University Ca 'Foscari of Venice) is a fixed-term researcher in contemporary history. She has been Research fellow at the University Centre for the History of the Resistance and the Contemporary Age (2018-2019); the Department of Historical and Geographic Sciences and the Ancient World of the University of Padua (2015-2017); and the Department of Political Science, Law, and International Studies of the University of Padua (2013-2015). She has also been Visiting researcher at the Université Paris Diderot - Paris 7 (ICT laboratory "Identités - Cultures - Territoires") and member of the University of Padua research project Dall’università d’élite all’università di massa. L’Ateneo di Padova dal secondo dopoguerra alla contestazione sessantottesca (2013-2015). Thanks to her research works, she obtained the Special Recognition of the President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies in the framework of "Premio Spadolini – Nuova Antologia"(XVII edition, 2013), the "Paolo Sambin" prize in the framework of "Premio Brunacci per la storia veneta” (XXIX edition, 2012) and special mentions from the jury of “Premio Brunacci per la storia veneta” (2016, 2018 and 2019 editions). She collaborates with the University Centre for the History of the Resistance and the contemporary age and with the University Centre for the History of the University of Padua. Her research interests include history of universities, history of schools and educational institutions, nationalism, fascism, history of the Jewish question.
