I am a GIS and Livestock Systems Analyst with over 15 years of international experience at FAO, contributing to innovative projects such as the Gridded Livestock of the World (GLW) and the Global Livestock Environmental Assessment Model (GLEAM). My core expertise lies in spatial data management, mapping, and the application of GIS methodologies to support evidence-based decision-making in livestock systems globally. Through my work on GLW, I have supported the development of high-resolution, globally harmonized livestock datasets, enabling more precise assessments of animal populations, disease risks, and environmental impacts. Additionally, I have contributed to scientific publications, including a recent article in Nature Communications addressing the future use of antibiotics in livestock. My role as a GIS Specialist and modeler is deeply connected to animal health, as I integrate geospatial analysis into disease surveillance, risk assessment, and sustainable management practices for livestock populations. I am also actively involved in delivering GIS training, empowering professionals across diverse regions to effectively apply spatial analysis in their work.
