About Giuseppina Dalessandro

I completed my PhD in molecular biology in Dr Fabrizio d’Adda di Fagagna’s group (IFOM, Milan, Italy) and later transitioned to Professor Sir Steve Jackson’s group (Cambridge, UK) to further pursue my interest in the DNA damage response and its connections to cancer and other human diseases. During my six years of postdoctoral research experience, I gained expertise in genome editing and CRISPR/Cas9 screening approaches, including CRISPR/Cas9 knock-out, inhibition, and base editing screens across different cell lines and genetic backgrounds and unveiled novel mechanisms in response to topoisomerase-associated lesions. Over the years, I have successfully led several projects, from their initial conceptualization to execution and coordination, and supervised the work of students and research assistants in the lab.
