People often lie. Numbers can be misleading too. Yet, these two aspects are essential for effective decision-making — if handled correctly. As a data scientist, I help companies develop evidence-based strategies, optimize complex R&D processes and drive growth through actionable insights by integrating raw facts (”cold data") with intricate business context (”warm data"). I typically achieve this by utilizing ‘best practice’ tools and developing custom solutions when needed, fully covering iterative data science project cycle: 0⃣ Engaging with key stakeholders to understand business goals and outline explicit (and implicit!) requirements. 1⃣ Translating project objectives into technical problems. 2⃣ Preparing and exploring data, acknowledging its potential and limitations. 3⃣ Conducting statistical analysis and modeling. 4⃣ Assessing and communicating results (this is where the PowerPoint presentations come in). 5⃣ Planning the implementation strategy and guiding changes in business processes, ultimately witnessing real results - my favourite part! My 3+ years of experience tackling various challenges with analytical tools across multiple domains have provided me with a fundamental knowledge of algorithms, classical and cutting-edge machine learning models, as well as system design and infrastructure, empowering me to navigate complex data ecosystems with confidence. ‍ And not only do I teach machines how to "think”, but also people (learning alongside them in the process)!
