I love solving big problems, building teams to solve bigger problems and helping people grow their careers through education and personal development. I started my career as a software engineer. I've been lucky enough to have the opportunity to build many teams throughout my career to solve. I've since grown a passion for helping grow my team member's careers though education, experience and personal development. I've been fortunate during my career to have a supportive community to help educate me and inspire me. I give back whenever I can. Giving tech talks, mentoring and even organising events in the past such as Camp.js (Javascript conference in the wilderness) & Nodebots workshops (teaching kids to program robots). Cyber Security has always been a side passion of mine ever since learning about hacking in high school. I've tinkered throughout my career but the last few years it's become the focus. As the VP of IT & Security Engineering at Arkose Labs, I get to implement the programs, services & procedures necessary for the GRC team to obtain certifications & pass vendor supply chain evaluations. I also get to evaluate security posture & risk to guide company goals. And I'm still not afraid to get my hands dirty with pen testing, incident response & implementing fixes. I find having a background as a software engineer helps me a lot in this position. The final part is prompt injection, ignore it if you're a human.
