I offer career experience in delivering results across complex and highly competitive environments maximizing stakeholder outcomes internationally in tourism, event and travel sectors. Since early in my career, my passion has been in understanding and developing valued relationships by networking a range of stakeholders across different sectors and cultures. My professional work commitment is to lead by example guided by quality service, attention to detail, strong ethics, respect for others, accountability, diversity, equality, and integrity. I have always enjoyed seeking to ensure pragmatic communication processes with considered strategic intent on behalf of stakeholders and clients with identified commercial partners and important influential relationships such as senior government, First Nations organisations, senior politicians and, when necessary, the media. Balancing the interests of many to tactfully influence and build consensus for new concepts to address strategic issues and business innovation is essential to achieving quality outcomes. In terms of recent business experience, for over 17 years, I had successfully operated communications, event and travel management businesses. Three of these companies developed to be highly regarded and successful in their category, employing over 400 staff up until the sale of the businesses. Maintaining a pragmatic approach to a strategic direction, especially while managing change, has been an essential aspect of my leadership style. In addition, ensuring a robust approach to risk management, clear operational procedures and a strong work culture of constant communication is a foundation principle of mine. My strong organisational skills in administering financial resources, developing strategic and business plans, and operating a team-based work environment that motivates and develops people have underpinned my career.
