About Glen Hopkinson
Glen has over thirty years experience in managing and growing high-tech businesses. He has been involved in two successful startup companies. From he was co-founder and Managing Director of Synopsys Scientific Systems Ltd, a developer of pharmaceutical research software, taking it from inception to trade sale to NASDAQ-listed Phamacopeia Inc. for $25M. Subsequently, Glen became VP of Cheminformatics at Accelrys Inc, the software division of Pharmacopeia, managing over 90 staff. After completing his Ph.D. in 1985, Glen spent three years working in Silicon Valley for FMC Corp. at their Artificial Intelligence Labs, before returning to the UK to become Software Development Manager of ORAC Ltd, a spin-out from the University of Leeds that was in part based on his post-doctoral work. Specialties: Glen has a wide appreciation of business planning, software development, international marketing, product sales and financial management, but is still a geek at heart!
