I started my wireline career in Minot, ND with E&P Wireline. I started as an assistant operator and quickly rose through the ranks to become a Senior Operator. When they shut the doors to the Minot shop, I was transferred to the yard in Williston, ND where I had the opportunity to learn new technology and the Schlumberger way of wirelining. In March of 2016, during the down turn, everything shut down and I was laid off. This was devastating but eventually, work started picking back up for Schlumberger and I was asked to come back to work. After a long discussion with my beautiful wife, In February of 2017, we decided that I should go back to doing what I loved and I took them up on the offer to work out of their Platteville, CO shop. Due to my experience and work ethic, I was quickly promoted to Field Specialist and was now in charge of running an entire crew.For personal reasons, I left Schlumberger in December of 2017 and started working for Dynasty Wireline in Midland, TX. That wasn't quite the right fit for me due to scheduling issues, so I made the switch to PerfX Wireline Services LLC. At PerfX, I was able to promote to Service Quality Manager and take on new challenges from a management perspective. This required a lot of hours and dedication but I was able to learn a lot about SOP integration, scheduling, RCA, reporting to better hone my skills to become more than just a "Wireliner."In the middle of 2021 my wife and I decided to make the move to Midland in order to be closer to where I work and to allow for more family time. Due to PerfX being sold, new upper management and structural issues, I found it best to part ways with the company I had grown to love. I bounced around for a few months have settled in at Pintail Completions. I am getting in on the ground floor of a young company with a lot of potential. The management team is goal focused on providing the best Service Quality to their clients by running a very experienced and efficient shop. This can not be done with out the right people in place at all levels. I haven't felt this kind of excitement about starting a job ever. I very much look forward to what this company and it's people can accomplish in the next several years. I love my job, I love the hours, I even love working through the problems when they arise. I love the rotation schedule and the time off with my family. The truth is that Wirelining gets in your blood and I cannot picture myself doing anything else.
