Background

About Glen Segger

I am the coordinator for two unique programs sponsored by the Yale Institute of Sacred Music. My primary responsibilities is to recruit for and facilitate the programmatic elements for the ISM Fellows in Sacred Music, Worship and the Arts and the ISM Congregations Project. I work closely with scholars and congregational leaders to further excellence in sacred music and the arts in both academia and in the field. As an independent scholar, I examine the history of worship in various liturgical traditions, especially those of the Anglican and Reformed churches. Specific areas of interest include Richard Baxter, the Book of Common Prayer, sacramental and eucharistic theology, ecclesiology, and rites of pastoral discipline. I am always eager to explore historical liturgical sources at The Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University.I am also a church musician who has worked in a number of churches as an organist and choir director. I am particularly fond of leading congregational song!
