I believe in the power of storytelling to change minds and drive action, which is why this proverb, attributed to the Hopi people, resonates with me: “Those who tell the stories rule the world.” It’s this storytelling role that I’ve had the privilege to play as a senior marketing, publishing, and brand building leader in the Greater China practice of McKinsey & Company, the global management consulting firm. For the past 26 years, I’ve been responsible for crafting strategies that build our reputation as a thought leader and impact partner, leveraging my deep experience in thought leadership publishing, media relations, reputation risk management, social media content creation, and multimedia production. I've worked with over 200 McKinsey Partners and Senior Partners to write, edit, and publish hundreds of reports, articles, and books on a range of topics. I pioneered McKinsey's presence on LinkedIn and WeChat, and helped several Partners build their followings into the hundreds of thousands and even millions.In 2012 I launched and subsequently produced 90 episodes of McKinsey on China, a widely listened to podcast on business and the economy in China.I launched my McKinsey career on the consulting side, having joined the firm fresh out of Wharton. For two years I served as an Associate advising senior management of global tech firms, financial institutions, and quick serve food chains on their most challenging strategic and organizational issues. Outside of work, I am passionate about writing and sharing my insights on the craft of writing and professional development. I have published hundreds of articles and posts on LinkedIn, and I've been recognized four years in a row as a LinkedIn "Top Voice" for the extensive reach and engagement that my content has generated on this platform.I have also produced and hosted more than 85 episodes of Write With Impact, a podcast featuring in-depth, long-form conversations with award-winning authors, writing coaches, and content creators.
