About Glenna Cook

I was born and raised in colorful Colorado, but moved from there after I married my husband Neil. I graduated from the Colorado State University with a degree in education. We have raised 4 sons, hosted 12 international exchange students, and helped a few other young people along the way. Neil and I have been married for 53 years. I started teaching piano about 45 years ago. Because I had had trouble learning to note read, I was very sensitive to my students struggles with mastering this skill. With lots of prayer, the Animal Note teaching method begin to take shape. First it was just the word clues to help the children have a way to picture the notes in their minds. This helped a lot, but one little boy, who had multiple learning disabilities need to see the animals in the notes. I drew them for him on blank music staffs and he loved it. He not only learned to play the piano, but his efforts in this area also helped him in his other studies. One of my piano Moms talked me into making books out of my hand drawn Animal Note music. Starting from a few sheets of hand drawn music we now publish 10 books, flash cards sets and have developed a learning method which includes an app for the iPhones and I iPads, This method is successful and our teaching materials are shipped world wide.
