About Glennys Egan

I’m an impact-driven and values-led professional who has worked at the intersection of youth, economic empowerment and leadership for more than a decade. Currently, I serve as the Senior Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Women and Gender Equality and Youth. In this role, I provide strategic advice and support to Canada’s top bureaucrat responsible for the government’s interdepartmental youth portfolio. I’ve supported youth employment and leadership initiatives in Canada, East Africa, and across the globe, in positions spanning from frontline service delivery to partnership development to policy. Above all things, I believe in the power of amplifying the voices of underrepresented communities — particularly young people — and including them in decision-making. I am an active contributor to my community through several volunteer initiatives. Right now, most of my volunteer time is spent serving on the board of Synapcity, an organization dedicated to civic engagement in Ottawa.
