About Gloria Coder

I am currently returned to Reach Out and am working full-time for as the Project Manager for CalVIP (California Violence Intervention and Prevention Program). Previous to this I worked for NHS Tayside as a Service Design Specialist for the Realistic Medicine program and earned my MSc Design in Healthcare at the University of Dundee, Scotland. I completed an internship with NHS Tayside, Realistic Medicine programme by creating a public awareness program with my partner. I have worked with Reachout for the past 5 years, which I totally loved and miss.(I took a hiatus to complete a master's program in Scotland and have stayed awhile longer). I enjoy the change of culture and the exposure to such diverse backgrounds here in the UK. I love working with the NHS and learning about improved ways to lead projects. I have a background in Respiratory Therapy, working in clinics, hospitals, homecare and working with disabled college students. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health, with an emphasis in Health Education and Promotion. I am a CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor for the AHA and National Safety Council. I worked for a non-profit where I could teach and instruct middle and high school students in health pathways areas. I love being able to plan and implement WBL (work-based learning) activities related to health careers. Project or program management is a great way to ensure you look at all areas (including risks), stay on budget, and work as a team to provide great services to the community. I love working with people as a leader or team member and get along well with others. I am a hard and dedicated worker who will give 110% of my attention to my work assignments. I know how to lead and know how to be led by others. Change is inevitable, and I am very willing to be flexible to accommodate those changes.
